Stress permeates every aspect of your life. It simply cannot be conveniently compartmentalized. We are all drenched in the daily grind, sometimes burning the candle at both ends. Have you ever thought about why you’re stressed? More importantly, once you know why, what are you doing to handle it? Are you handling it or are you walking in defeat?
There are very good practical ways of alleviating stress. We can breathe in essential oils, work out, take a walk, sip on calming tea, take some deep slow breaths, rub some crystals, listen to healing music or burn some soothing incense. However, the only way to be victorious over stress is to give it to God.
Sometimes it’s a real juggling act…trying to keep your hopes up when the gravity of a situation is doing its best to get you down. Been there?
There are times when you just have to walk away and start all over. We know all of those comforting scripture, I shall not leave you nor forsake you; Joshua 1:5…God won’t give you more than you can handle; Corinthians 1:13; for I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11. These are just a few of the countless promises God has for us.
I would bet that even the happiest person in the world feels like staying home and hiding under the covers sometimes. Life goes on so we might as well come on out from under the covers and face our day. God tells us He is with us always. So, life goes on doesn’t mean that you can’t feel the hurt, pain, sadness, or frustration. Sometimes life is worse for the wear. (He’s with us)Sometimes better for our efforts, (He’s there) but always, life goes on and with Jesus on our side it will all be okay.
Dear Lord, help each of us to give our stress and feelings of defeat to you today. We trust You and love You.
