God is unchanging wisdom and love. What are the motives behind your prayers? Do you pray to make yourself better or to benefit others, or a little of both. Bottom line…Are you praying?

Prayer brings us into harmony. Some say that “just praying” isn’t going to make a difference; but it shall!!! Prayer perpetuates our belief in God; increasing faith and hope. God is love; He is the same yesterday, and today, and forever. We profess that God is good, omnipotent, omnipresent and infinite. If we don’t find the time to pray, giving Him thanks for even the simplest of things; our relationship goes stale.  Even the chirping of birds outside your window on a 2 degree day is something to thank Him for! Am I preaching to myself as well? Yes, indeed!!!MH900409444

Dig deep; what we most need is prayer for a fervent desire for growth in His grace, expressed in our love. I looked up the word fervent and in the Oxford Dictionary it reads:

  • Very hot: glowing: exhibiting or marked by great intensity of feeling: zealous <fervent prayers>…Some of the synonyms are: Ardent, blazing, burning, charged, feverish, fiery, flaming, glowing and intense.

When is the last time you prayed with blazing, burning, fiery passion? Outward prayer and worship in itself is not sufficient; it’s the time alone where the heart grows, where the spiritual understanding regenerates. It is where we can sit and feel the unseeable stream we are part of; where truth will set us free time and time again.

May your prayers be intense, zealous and ardent for God today.
