Behind Garage Doors

Oh how I love Wednesday mornings!  I get to spend every Wednesday morning with the most wonderful, Godly women while we share the Word of God.

Today, we were camped out in a beautiful home with the Spirit of the Lord present. Two new lovely ladies came and every woman in our group either hugged or shook their hands and welcomed them. That’s the work of the LORD I’ve been talking about. That’s the ministry of this group; women who are putting down their own big guns and allowing the powerful-guns of god to take control. You know what I mean right?

Well, I have to back up a few…Before parking my car, the neighbor next door signaled me to park in her driveway. I looked in and there she was; an elderly woman, in her jammies with her radio going. Since the closest parking spot was down the road and it was already very hot; I took her up on her offer. I pulled in, gathered up my nice leather Bible and my journal, lookin’ all Christian-like, nodded my head and thanked her. While walking away, I dropped my pen in her driveway and I’m telling you in that moment God got my attention. I looked up at the woman as I was straightening out my crackly back and she looked right at me. “No God! I’ll be late for snacks. I’m hungry! Seriously Lord?” In the middle of that driveway, I had a mini debate with God finally giving over to Him. I walked towards the woman, not sure of what to say, reached out my hand and said, “I’m Beth and thank you so much for lending me your driveway.” From there I stood, listened to her health issues, her sadness, shared the blessing of God and then we prayed together. She has been invited several times to the Bible study but for her own personal reasons she has declined.

When I walked away from her I felt so awestruck. Inevitably, I knew she was wounded. I was so passive until God dealt with me right there in that driveway in just a few seconds. God will get your attention right when He wants to. I dropped a pen. That’s all it took. God is neither whimsical nor random in His involvement in the lives of His people. He provides, at just the right time, the right circumstances and people to make certain His plans are accomplished.

I walked into the Bible Study house. The ladies were gabbing, sipping coffee & eating goodies, (which there were plenty left over). The bell rang, yes, we have an official bell-ringer otherwise we would not stop gabbing; after-all that is a gift from God to most women. When we went around the room, our lovely leader asked if I would sit in the chair so that they could lay hands on me and pray. I WAS BLESSED!!!Image

I did not minister to the woman in the garage because I wanted to but rather because GOD said so. I was not prayed over because they wanted to put their hands all over my back, but did so because GOD said so. God will intervene and we had better be ready to obey.

I strongly recommend you read about the faithful servant, the daughter of Pharaoh who moved towards the Nile River to bathe. As the entourage progressed along the riverside, Pharaoh’s daughter spotted a tiny ark floating among the reeds and ordered her maids to retrieve it. The scripture tells us that Pharaoh’s daughter took him away and brought him up as her own son. And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and deeds. (Acts 7:21-22).The full story is in Exodus chapter 2.

This is miraculous, incredible evidence of the care of God to set up a perfect situation and prepare His servant perfectly for the calling of the future. God always puts the perfect person (or group of people) in the perfect place at the perfect time.

Our Father, who art in heaven, may your name be honored, may your kingdom come, may your will be done on earth as it is in heaven!!!!

This is again so very beautiful! It encourages me to be always listening for God’s “assignment” for me.
