Praying by the Poolside

JUST A FEW SIMPLE THOUGHTS TODAY…

feet at pool

I am a pool person. Those that know me well know that I can be found at my pool a lot during the summer. I love to sit and read or swim a few laps. I just love being there. I don’t mind the noise of little kids nor do I mind the quiet of adults; I just love to be there.
The only other thing that I love more is communing with God. I usually do this with my writing and my quiet time first thing in the morning, but now I’ve incorporated another way to commune with my heavenly Father; praying by the poolside.
I did just that yesterday; sat at my poolside for about an hour; stretching, swimming and communing with God.

God’s Word does NOT tell us when and where we are to pray; God’s Word tells us to pray at all times.

Ephesians 6: 18 tells us to pray at all times in the Spirit with every prayer and request, and stay alert in this with all perseverance and intercession for all the Saints. HCSB…The Spirit of the Lord is wherever you go.

Psalm 6:9 The Lord has heard my plan for help; the LORD accepts my prayer. HCSB Even at the pool? Yes, again, the Spirit of the Lord is wherever you go.

Have you found any new ways in which you pray? I would love to hear from you.

Beth

Just to inform you: The scripture Psalm 6:9 is the LORD has heard my plea not plan…We probably could say plan but that’s not what God’s Word reads. Beth

Hurricane Sandy took our pool down and my husband doesn’t want another one. I work for a schol district and am off during the summer months. My best pRt of the day was taking one hour to float and be with God. I did it every week day alone and loved every minute. I miss that time so much. I was given a daily devotional called God Calling, and read that peacefully by myself and reflect. It warms your heart. I pray all day long. I am very blessed with a wonderful family and a good life.

I have that devotional as well. I am sure you found a substitution time to pray. I am blessed to have a wonderful mom, brothers and children to always be by my side no matter what. I too pray all day long; that’s what God’s Words says to do.
        Thanks for commenting.
